LC rear suspension pump (SH)
Something quite essential and often overlooked is the rear air assist system that accompanies the normal shock and spring arrangement you’d expect to find on a Carlton. An airbag surrounds the shock absorbers and a sensor monitors ride height, a small air pump fills and removes air as needed. This may not seem important and some owners may question why Lotus went to the trouble. The purpose is mainly to maintain the correct rear camber angles at high speed, whatever load the car is carrying, to aid stability and prevent the inner edge of the tyre from overheating at high speed.
If the air pump isn’t cycled every now and again it can seize up. We have several second hand but fully tested replacements in stock.
